THIS JUST IN: Kennard reunion set for Aug. 23-24

The Kennard Family Reunion will take placeAug. 23-24 at "Camp Lomondi."

The fabulous Kennard reunion is coming up Aug. 23-24 at "Camp Lomondi."

There are a number of cabins to sleep in. The beautiful lodge has a large dining area and a nice kitchen.

There is also plenty of room to camp on the grass in this gorgeous mountain setting.  There is a stream for fishing, basketball court, ping pong, volleyball and hiking trails.

There is a nice campfire spot for those who want to cook dinner in or on the fire. Please come prepared to cook or bring your own dinner.

For breakfast we usually combine our food and eat together. (Eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, hashbrowns, if you like and any kind of juice or fruit you would like to bring.)

Please come and let's have a great time together visiting and playing games and singing around the campfire.

DIRECTIONS: Head toward Ogden, then exit east off Interstate 15 12th Street, Exit 344. Follow 12th Street East and it turns into Ogden Canyon Road.

As you head up the canyon, follow directions to Eden. You will come to a fork where you will continue to follow Odgen Canyon road left across Pineview Dam on Highway 158.

After you pass the lake turn left (north) at the Valley Market at North Highway 162 (East 2500 West, Eden). Follow this road for about three miles until turns into N. 3500 East and then tees into E 4100 North.

Take a left on E. 4100 East then a right on North 3300 East. After you cross a bridge over the dry riverbed take a left on North Fork Road.

Camp Lomondi is about 2.4 miles past the fork. You will pass Camp Zarahemla first, then Camp Liberty and last will be Camp Lomondi. All of these camps are on your left.

The dirt road will lead past several utility buildings and end at the parking lot.

THIS JUST IN ...

Frances Catherine (Frankland) Kennard, 1875-1953

Mother's Voice Project

This recording has been floating around for a while, but never shared widely. You can help by identifying the names of the voices in the recording and providing other details about its creation.

"Mother" is Catherine Frances (Frankland) Kennard, wife of Leonidas Hamlin Kennard II and mother to John Gleason, Frankland James, Gordon Keith, Marguerite, Joanna, Verua, Lon, Esther and Verua.

At least two of the male voices are Gleason and Lon. One unconfirmed report is that John "Jack" Kennard, one of Gleason's sons, is another of the male voices.

The video will be updated with new information as it becomes available.

If you can fill in the details about this recording, send them to davidbkennard@yahoo.com.

Reunion Update:

The 2016 Kennard Family Reunion took place July 15-16 at Camp Lamondi.

Past president Katie Kennard Laparra has passed the presidency gavel to Steven George.

We look forward to having you join us again next year for fellowship, music and fun in the comfort of the facilities at Camp Lamondi. Find it on a map. Look for news about it here or at the LH Kennard Reunion Facebook page.

Descendants of Leonidas Hamlin Kennard Jr., born 26 October 1869, died 28 November 1948.

By now, Kennards are scattered hither and yon. You can find family members on every continent of the globe. This is a humble attempt to bring us closer again.

As David George, son of Gale and Lenore (Kennard) George says, "A very hypersimplistic goal statement is that I hope to make the living happier and please the dead."
